Well, as many of you might have figured out, I'm not in Scotland. I ended up not going.

I realized that I felt like i absolutely had to go this year. But I didn't. Scotland will still be there next year. So will YWAM. So I've decided to wait and pray more this year to see if it's really what the Lord has for my life.

I've decided, instead, to intern at UGA's Wesley Foundation for another year. I'll be interning as a Co-Ed/Women's intern, which means I'll help organize co-ed small groups, lead a co-ed small group, and help plan Women's events. I'm so excited to see what the Lord has for UGA's campus and students, and also what He has to teach me this year. I'm so excited to see growth in the girls that I disciple, the kids at St. James, and the students that will be in my small group.

one of the ways that i'm raising money for scotland is through an art auction. i have some wonderful friends who are artists who have graciously donated some wonderful pieces of art for me to sell.

guess who forgot about currency conversions?

guess who thought a dts was 3000 DOLLARS when it's really 3000 POUNDS?

guess who needs a little more money than they thought?

3,000 USD=4,878.54 GBP

but, luckily, there are sites like kayak.com and expedia.com that find you the cheapest flights, so i'm hoping to save a bit of money there.

so my friends, just continue to pray that the lord will provide for me. who knows, maybe some really nice person with a private jet will want to fly me to scotland for free. or maybe a pilot will give me some of his sky miles. or maybe some rich celebrity will see my tweets and want to support me.

so, please pray for any of those, or just for money and provision.

Scotland

it's scary when you know what you're supposed to do but you're afraid to do it because you'll fail. like sending out support letters for your scotland mission trip. which is what i'm about to do. i've just finished writing them and i'm about to get some people to look over them. then i'll print them. then i'll send them.

and then...i'll wait. which will be maybe the hardest part.

but if the Lord has taught me anything it's that He's faithful. and if He's called me to do this, He'll make it happen.

Athens

i'm back in athens at my dear friend allison's house. we're watching glee. and it's awesome.

it reminds me of cleaning stanely house. specifically the kitchen. rocking out to the glee soundtrack with my loves emily, carrie, and elizabeth.

i love glee.

i love my mission trip team.

i love stanely house staff.

and i love when all of these things happen together.

one more reason why i can't wait to get back to scotland.

but for now, i'm in athens. i'm going to most of my dear friends tonight. and i'm very excited about what god is going to do in us and through us this year.

Scotland

all i want to do is never leave scotland.

i know what you're thinking: "no, come home we miss you!" i miss you too! but my heart longs to stay in scotland.

i first fell in love last year on my first wesley mission trip. we stayed at the ywam base in paisley. i fell in love with the city, with the accent, with the scottish people, and with the staff at stanely. i felt the lord move in real ways, and i made the decision to be baptised. leaving was hard, but i did so knowing i would return.

as the year went on, i wasn't as excited for my return. other things got in the way and pushed themselves to the front. and now i find myself once more in beautiful stanely house, in beautiful paisley, scotland, surrounded by beautiful people from all over the u.s. and scotland. and i never want to leave.

the lord gave me such a huge heart for the people of scotland last year. and this year, i feel like he's narrowed that down to the youth of scotland. if i could, i would stay here and just love on these kids.

it's weird. for a long time, i thought what i wanted to to was to live close to my parents and have a nice job and never move. but the lord has changed so much of my heart since i transferred schools, it's amazing. this is really strange, and i so wish it weren't so [mostly because it reflects so badly on me] but the only thing that has made me momentarily re-think [a very short moment, at that] doing a dts and being on staff here is the fact that there's no barberitos in scotland. not family, not friends, but cheese dip. that's what's holding me to america. am i liz lemon? i think yes.

i would love to stay and do my dts from june to october and then just never come home. but alas, i have responsibilities and internships [which, do NOT get me wrong, i am still super stoked about] and a degree to get back to. i feel that the lord has called me to scotland, but he's also called me to finish my degree [which, let me make it clear, i am doing mostly out of respect for my parents and the sacrifices they've made and money they've spent for me to do so, and partially because i'm so close, so why stop now?] and to intern with the youth at st. james [which i am SO excited about, i can't even begin to tell you] next year.

so i will come back, eagerly awaiting my return to beautiful, green scotland.
